This mentorship is intended for mid-career professionals who are in positions of leadership in their institutions or who are in charge of a communications team. The KAVIBE Mentorship program aims to increase Public Relations and Communications professionals’ engagement and productivity on the job. It hopes to improve staff retention and foster long-term relationships that last beyond an employee’s time with the organization.
Master a Topic
The KAVIBE Mentorship program provides flexible learning sessions, both virtual and in-person. A professional can take One Topic for two weeks at UGX350,000/= (approximately $100) or a complete course of four topics in eight weeks at UGX2,800,000/= (approximately $750). The program focuses on preparing mid-career professionals in the following areas: communication strategy implementation, public relations management, content writing and copywriting, and social media planning and management.

Joan Apio is a Marketing Communications Consultant with over 15 years of experience working with various institutions to develop and successfully implement communication and marketing strategies. She is enthusiastic about mentoring young people to become better communicators, and she has taught over 275 young people in Africa how to use social media for communication and marketing. Her goal is to encourage more people and organizations to harness the power of strategic communication. She strives to help both young and mid-career professionals find their purpose and effectively deliver in their positions of influence. Joan is an alumnus of the Watoto School of Community Leadership, which aims to train and mentor transformational leaders. She graduated with the class of 2017.
