Duncan Mugabe is Uganda’s number one Tennis player, really talented, seasoned and skilled over the years; he has participated in quite a number of tournaments both local and international and won most of them; that’s why he is Uganda’s number one seed.
Duncan will be back on the Tennis court this week in the ITF Uganda Pro circuit futures 2, after a week of intense matches where Duncan showed an impeccable display of skill and talent winning his first three matches; qualifiers against Great Britain’s Joe Cooper and Peru’s Andre Kumeza 6-3 6-2 , 6-1 3-6 6-4 respectively then going on to win his double match with Burundi’s Hassan Ndayishimiye against David Oringa and DeMark Schulze 6-3, 6-2. Though he put on a good and strong fight against Russia’s number 3 seed Shalva Dzhanashiya in the men’s singles main draw he was defeated 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 and he lost his double in the main draw with Hassan Ndayishimiye against Kunal Anand and Giovani Samaha 6-4, 6-2.
Duncan displayed great confidence, skill and talent on the court making Uganda shine; he took the “bull by the horns” and gave each match his very best; showing that even when we were not seeing him on the Ugandan courts frequently, he has been training hard and growing his art; for that we say great job Duncan Mugabe keep it up.
That confidence, skill and talent is what we await to see on the court this week as Duncan Mugabe plays in the ITF Uganda PRO CIRCUIT futures 2. So as team Uganda we continue to support and cheer on our very own.
Come watch Duncan Mugabe in action at the Lugogo Tennis Complex; games start at 9:00 am and entrance fee is 5000 Uganda shilings.
